Like a puppet on a monetary string (American Dream)

switchfoot completely owns. it’s funny how you can be locked away on an island (which kind of symbolizes how regimental this country is as a whole) and after coming out to get yourself updated on what’s been happening, you realize you’ve forgotten that switchfoot’s new album came out on boxing day, but it’s ok, cuz there are people who buy them and send them to you (thanks denys! i can’t say which i like best yet cuz i think they all rock); you press play and you get greeted with lyrics like

Another day
Another lifetime
Another engine stalls
Another line
Another freeway
Another freefall

I’ve lost all that I wanted to be
Don’t believe that there’s nothing this true
Don’t believe in this modern machine

(Circles)

or

My heart beat once or twice
And life flooded my veins
Everything had changed
My lungs had found their voice
And what was once routine
Was now the perfect joy

(Faust Midas and Myself)

except i’m going back to camp of course.
